Off Topic / Two Cents Worth

I’ve an always picked them up. Any amount is more than I had. Crazy, maybe.

They stopped production, 2025. Some companies stopped giving you change to the penny. Rounding up, they took a loss. For larger companies, maybe that works. But I personally see it as a bookkeeping issue and a loss. We don’t get much cash at RPM Graphics. But I still can’t just throw away money. Credit card processing fees are bad enough. We use QuickBooks and that doesn’t compensate for the change either way. So what’s the answer?

I get why it’s silly to make them. Plus it feels like people have been “throwing them” for an eternity. Also, ssome banks can’t get them anymore. What a different world financial without pennies. But this coming from someone who still feels cash is KING. To me they just got more valuable. Thoughts?

I will forever pick them up. No matter what they are “worth”.
